    Description

    This is a supervisory position for the Chromatography/MS Laboratory in R&D Analytical group at the Wilmington, DE research center. This person will serve as a technical expert in chromatography and mass spectrometry in addition to overseeing the day-to-day operation of the laboratory. This is an analytical chemist position requiring technical expertise in small molecule chromatography to include but not limited to GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS, IC and a fundamental understanding of wet chemical techniques. This position will also require technical leadership in the evaluation and implementation of relevant new technologies toward improving the breadth and quality of the analytical information and improved laboratory efficiencies. As a member of the analytical group, the successful candidate will collaborate on a diverse set of technical problems in providing technical expertise in support of global R&D, manufacturing, customer applications and regulatory efforts.

    Qualifications

    • BS degree with 10+ years, MS degree with 5+ years or a PhD with 2+ years relevant industry experience. 
    • Technical expert in chromatography and mass spectrometric analyses with extensive experience in method development, method validation and method troubleshooting.  This would also include experience troubleshooting and repairing of chromatographic instrumentation. 
    • Experience with capital acquisition and will need to provide technical leadership in the evaluation of new analytical technologies. 
    • Familiarity with chemical production processes and product quality, as well as experience in the implementation of QC analytical methodology is a definite plus.
    • Experience with polymer characterization utilizing SEC and/or GPC, HPLC, pyrolysis GC/MS and wet chemical techniques is also a desirable plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
