    Description

    The Maintenance Coordinator will plan, schedule, and coordinate all mechanical, electrical, controls, general buildings and facility infrastructure maintenance work for three co-located chemical processing plants producing alkyl ketene dimer based paper sizing agents, fatty acid based emulsifiers for food and personal care, and organic peroxides for the wire rubber and plastics industries.

     

    The Maintenance Coordinator will divide his or her time equally between the three companies located at the Franklin plant; typically working 11 hours per week planning, scheduling, and coordinating repairs and PM for each of the three companies and 7 hours per week planning, scheduling, and coordinating repairs and PM for general buildings and facility infrastructure. Overtime may be required to meet the individual requirements of each company.

     

    Responsibilities include:

     

    • Review all new maintenance notifications in SAP each morning.
    • Develop full scope and extent of work needed, including cost and time required, to conduct the relevant repair, preventive, predictive, and improvement maintenance activities of plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
    • Assign all work orders to appropriate maintenance staff and contractors, document and follow up on work orders for timely completion of job assignment.
    • Issue preventative maintenance work orders to appropriate staff or preventative maintenance contractors in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules.
    • Collaborate with Plant Managers, Engineers and Operations to schedule day-to-day manpower and resources.
    • Ensure maintenance personnel document their time to work orders in SAP and return work order hard copies when completed.
    • Prepare reports, collect and analyze data, and make recommendations for solving maintenance-related problems.
    • Utilize SAP to manage and track work orders, back log, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment and make recommendations on manpower allocation, levels, and overtime needs including the deployment of contractors as needed.
    • Identify current and future maintenance requirements and ensure two-way communications by working closely with and establishing rapport with all maintenance personnel, EHS, Plant Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and outside contractors to ensure coordination of maintenance and/or electrical activities whether planned or unplanned.
    • Support equipment upgrades, plant improvements, expansions, and installations by conferring and collaborating with maintenance personnel, EHS, Plant Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and outside contractors in coordinating the activities of the maintenance crew and outside contractors.
    • Assist Plant Managers, Engineers and Supervisors with the planning and implementation of planned shutdowns.
    • Process invoices and enter purchasing and other financial data into SAP.
    • Requisition tools, supplies and equipment.
    • Provide trouble-shooting assistance to the mechanical, electrical, I&E and related functions.
    • Coordinate activities associated with all plant permits such as line break, management of change, hot work, confined space, hazardous energy control and other safety associated programs.
    • Adhere to all aspects of Responsible Care®.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School graduate or GED equivalent, demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication.
    • Prior experience with electrical and or boiler maintenance is preferred.
    • Must have the ability to interpret schematics, plans, elevations, P&ID and other drawings.
    • The ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
    • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
    • 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
