The E&I Mechanic is an active participant in a high performance team responsible for the daily maintenance of all electrical systems and instruments located on the Franklin site. As an E&I mechanic you will work in an active chemical manufacturing environment between a control room, outside process equipment area and warehouse/ charging area. This is a day shift position but will require you to be available for on call 24/7 at least one week out of three. Ambient environmental conditions apply (rain, cold, heat, etc); Frequently traverses steps and walks across uneven surfaces; May bend, squat or kneel periodically during day, lifts loads of up to 50 lbs, exerts force by pushing and pulling while using grip strength; required to wear special PPE when doing specific work orders including a full face respirator.
Other role responsibilities:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and more than four years related experience and/or training; or the successful completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and electrical schematics. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certificate of completion of an approved apprenticeship program preferred.
