    The HR Business Partner – Labor & Employee Relations will serve as the key integrator, influencer and advisor partner between the HR organization and the N. America Supply Chain organization. The successful incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for employee and labor relations and other people related issues within the organization.  This role supports the organization in achieving operational targets by developing, promoting, implementing, managing and maintaining effective HR policies, programs, procedures, and practices.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to working towards the development of a positive employee relations climate in an organization that has both union and non-union employees; providing day-to-day leadership and guidance regarding employment issues including but not limited to corrective action, arbitrations, mediations, grievance resolutions, and other labor/employee relations functions; advising and coaching  Management on HR related issues; and providing coaching to managers on the resolution of positive employee situations, including performance improvement, disciplinary actions and terminations. The successful incumbent will be recognized as an HR leader with strong business acumen and a track record of execution. 



    This role is accountable for building an aggressive HR/Talent agenda that aligns with business strategy, positions Solenis as an employer of choice, and builds and develops best-in-class Supply Chain capability that delivers consistent growth across the enterprise. This role will collaborate closely with Regional HR leaders across the company to ensure the business attracts, develops, and retains high performing talent at all levels in support of evolving into a high growth culture.  This role will be a recognized HR leader who serves as a consultant and change agent to implement and execute globally the various HR programs and initiatives such as talent management strategies, performance management, and annual compensation planning. Support the business on the effective development and deployment of talent in the business to achieve strategic and operational objectives.

    • Hiring best practice and external perspectives to people management decision-making.
    • Support and lead change and transformation efforts within the organization.
    • Build strong relationships and partner with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) functions such as Total Rewards, HR Operations, Talent Management and regional HR Leadership to ensure the successful roll out global initiatives. Works as an integrated HR partner to ensure consistency and alignment across the global HR organization.
    • Coach business leaders on people related matters. Support the resolution of complex people issues. Provides thoughtful and objective consultation and provides recommendations for resolution. Hold senior leaders accountable. 
    • Lead strategic projects across the enterprise in order to implement and manage human resources processes, including:
      • Talent Reviews and Succession Planning
      • Strategic Hiring and Candidate Assessment
      • Performance Management including assessments, calibration, compensation planning
      • Job Analysis and Evaluation to determine job level, base salary and career progression
      • Promotion Process and Criteria
      • Workforce Planning Strategy and Implementation
    • Continuously builds business acumen by participating in and driving the HR agenda in business staff meetings, town halls, roundtables. Provides the ‘Voice of HR’ to the business and the ‘Voice of the customer’ to HR partners and COE’s.
    • Develop and build latest HR knowledge and expertise proactively to identify new trends, concepts and applies to future strategies to enhance HR programs.  Stay updated on changes in local legislation and interfaces with legal counsel as necessary to interpret statutory changes.
    • Support and lead special projects as directed including mergers and acquisition support. 
    • Provides surge support for critical HR initiatives as needed.


    • BS or BA in Human Resources or related field; Advanced degree preferred
    • Minimum of seven (7) years Human Resources progressive generalist/HRBP experience including labor and employee relations
    • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
    • Working knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations (Canadian knowledge a plus) relating to the human resources field; experience with OFCCP/EEO work; ability to liaise with Employee Relations team
    • Knowledge of HRIS systems
    • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PP)
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to develop and manage the execution of people related projects
    • Ability to form strong partnership with all levels in the organization

    • Superior organization/project management skills.  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments/projects, timelines and to identify project interdependencies, resource needs, potential risks/pitfalls and mitigation plans. Recognized as an integrator and solution provider. 
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering presentations that convey key concepts and outline recommendations to all levels of management.  Ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
    • Experience building and leading diverse teams is preferred.
    • Support and lead special projects as directed including mergers and acquisition support.
