    Description

    Monitor SAP for customer orders; work with 3rd party logistics and local carriers to arrange pickup; prepare loading schedule using plant database; insure delivery and shipment creation is complete in SAP; prepare internal documents for loading teams

    Train and supervise hourly team members in the shipping and powerhouse team relative to shipping functions.
    15%
    Work closely with production team and 3rd party Logistics provider to insure accurate on time in full shipment (OTIF), track metrics on performance and investigate misses.
    10%
    Work closely with Corporate Logistics, Procurement and 3rd party logistics to maximize shipping efficiency and develop cost savings strategies, improve carrier service issues and investigate customer complaints.

    Develop and improve logistics process (end of day jeopardy reports, loading detention, freight invoices, demurrage cost); document and maintain local procedures
    5%
    Lead investigation into logistics complaints, carrier service issues and local team shipping deficiencies; Investigate/ troubleshoot issues within the operating system (SAP, database)

    Maintain accurate files for all logistics records; insure all paperwork is complete and accurate
    5%

    Qualifications

    • S Diploma or GED required
    • College Degree preferred
    • Prefer 2-5 years previous experience in logistics and in managing direct reports
    • Knowledge of logistics, carriers and trucking practices.
    • Chemical manufacturing and related equipment, safe chemical handling/ packaging.
