    Description

    As a Tank Truck Driver you will hold the following responsibilities:

     

    • Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
    • Reads bill of lading to determine assignment.
    • Fastens chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit.
    • Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck.
    • Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.
    • Obtains customer's signature for services.
    • Inventories and inspects goods to be moved.
    • Wraps goods using pads, packing paper, and containers, and secures load to trailer wall using straps for package loads.
    • Ensures valves, fittings, and hoses are in place for bulk hauls.
    • Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products.
    • Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
    • Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations.
    • Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate must meet all Federal and Oregon DOT regulations and requirements and meet the following general qualifications of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

     

    Other Qualifications: 

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Experience/licensed liquid bulk driver
    • General knowledge of warehousing and distribution
    • Strong work history and commitment to safety is a must
    • General computer skills and e-mail familiarity
    • Good communication skills
    • Self motivator, positive attitude, and team player
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
    • Have a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with tank endorsement and no air brake restrictions.

    • Must provide a “Drivers Certification” listing any traffic violations and accidents in which the applicant was involved during the previous three years, specifying dates, conditions, and any fatalities or injuries resulting.

    • Know how to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargo.

    • Two (2) years tractor/trailer driving experience under a DOT certified carrier within the past three (3) years.
