    Description

    Regional Product Specialists are responsible for directly supporting multiple Regional SBU Managers within their assigned region to effect profitable growth. Key jobs that they are accountable for are:

     

    1. Managing “backend” processes involving SAP, NPIR, Customer Specifications, Fast Track, Regulatory issues related to optimizing the SBU portfolio
    2. Update and maintain product price book in alignment with SBU strategy
    3. Optimize profitability through accurate product costing and identification of profit improvement opportunities (mix, raw materials, manufacturing, etc)
    4. Support marketing communications and APPL through periodic review and updating of product selection guides. Ensure ACUMEN information and up-to-date PDS are available.

    Regional Product Specialists support the SBU manager’s as they work to execute product lifecycle strategy.  They will be trained to use SAP, NPIR database, Customer Specifications, and Fast Track in order to have a firm understanding of core product management tools needed to deliver add, change, extend and delete products.  There will be opportunities for exposure to senior management.  As the Product Specialist grows in SBU and market knowledge, they will be involved in upgrading the overall product mix towards more differentiated and higher margin products where this is aligned with the SBU strategy.

     

    Other key role responsibilities:

     

    Manage backend processes to support optimization of SBU portfolios:  In the role, the Product Specialist will coordinate with EHS/Regulatory, Product Support, Manufacturing and Planning to make changes to the portfolio offerings.  Key functions will involve:

    • Executing product deletions in NPIR/SAP
    • Creating product plant extensions in NPIR/SAP
    • Creating sales org extensions in NPIR/SAP
    • Creating packaging additions in NPIR/SAP
    • Adding new product names in NPIR/SAP
    • Creating Fast Track requests to provide needed information relative to product changes and market needs.

     

    Update and maintain product price book in alignment with SBU Strategy 

    • Submit pricing changes, including price increases, in timely manner to regional pricing
    • For new products, submit list, target, and floor prices to regional pricing
    • Work with Regional SBU, Global SBU directors and Pricing Leads to gain a working knowledge of how to develop pricing strategies

     

    Optimize SBU Profitability

    • Identify and support profitability improvement opportunities
    • Provide input into potential product mix impact by SBU
    • Ensure accurate product costing at raw material and manufacturing levels

     

    Update product communications

    • Review and update product information in Product Selection guides, working with marketing and APPL to execute
    • Properly maintain new/updated/deleted product content on ACUMEN, including product data sheets (PDS) and associated literature

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or better in a technical field
    • 3+ year’s experience in IWT or PP product lines you would be responsible for. Exposure to pricing process is needed
    • Candidates with technical applications and sales experience is preferred
    • Strategic thinker and problem solver who has the ability to apply analytic solutions to business problems
    • Strong time and cross-functional people management skills
    • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across multiple teams
    • Strong written and oral presentation skills (in English)
    • Industry and customer literate or ability to pick up Solenis markets and technologies quickly
    • Profitability and growth orientation; does not hesitate in challenging sales force when required; Willingness and mindset to get into details
    • Knowledge of marketing and pricing fundamentals
    • Sufficient financial skills to utilize the decision support systems to interface with the sales and marketing organizations to drive specific action plans and programs.
