The North America Commercial Human Resource Business Partner Associate will report to the Head of HR – Americas and have a dotted line reporting relationship to the North America Industrial Water Technology HR Leader.   This position will be based at our corporate headquarters in Wilmington, DE, and support approximately 650 employees, the majority who work remotely or at customer locations.    


The HR Business Partner Associate serves as the primary point of contact for predominantly U.S. based commercial employee relations and other people related issues within the North American Pulp and Paper (NA P&P) and  North American Industrial Water Technology (NA IWT) business units.     This position is expected to serve as a key integrator, influencer and advisor between the HR organization and the North America commercial team.  This role is expected to operate as a trusted consultant and functional expert to commercial leaders who report into senior commercial leaders and business unit executive teams. This includes: collaborating with business and regional HR leaders to ensure the business is prepared to support talent needs and high growth culture; the effective development and deployment of talent to achieve strategic and operational objectives; promoting, implementing and maintaining effective HR policies, programs, procedures, and practices; serving as the primary contact for investigatory matters across within area of responsibility, along with performance improvement consultation and day to day leadership and guidance regarding employment issues; and providing day to day support on HR activities such as compensation management, talent acquisition, HR analytics and special projects as assigned.






Accountable for supporting HR/Talent agenda that aligns with the business strategy and helps to position Solenis as an “employer of choice”. The talent agenda will include the capabilities to attract and enhance organizational performance; as well as develop, engage, and retain best-in-class capability that will deliver consistent growth across the enterprise.   Additionally, serve as primary contact supporting clients in employee relations investigations, performance improvement planning and employee relations matters.



  • Build strong relationships and partners with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) such as Total Rewards, HR Operations, Talent Management as well as Commercial to ensure the successful roll out of initiatives and day to day operations.
  • Coach managers on people related matters; supports the resolution of complex people issues; provides thoughtful and objective consultation.   Leads resolution of employee relations issues, complaints, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with managers to design an HR agenda that addresses short and long-term industry and competitive challenges.
  • Provide day to day support on HR activities including activities such as compensation management, recruitment, and selection, leave administration, policy and procedures and compliance.
  • Support client organizations with the administration and execution of key HR programs, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment of the Solenis workforce with the strategic goals of the Company.  These programs include the annual performance management process, ongoing talent assessment and development programs, annual compensation planning, variable compensation support, annual culture survey action planning and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning, including organizational design.
  • Provide surge support for critical HR initiatives as needed.

BS or BA in Human Resources or related field; advanced degree preferred.




Minimum five (5) years Human Resources generalist experience supporting a field sales/service organization.



  • Working knowledge of applicable country laws/regulations relating to the Human Resources field.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering presentations that convey key concepts and outline. recommendations to all levels of management. Ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
